Awesome looking bars. I received them a while back and couldn't wait to put them on my 08 Nightster. I am content with the product, but disappointed in the lack of research on my part when it came to checking for clearance. So I will post this in order to keep others from making the same mistakes I made. It took about 30 mins to get everything taken down and re-mounted on my bike. Simple task. Unfortunately, I found out that 24” bars with stock 2” risers cause the hand controls to hit the side of the tank. I figured adding an extra 2” to my risers with a small pull back would fix the problem. It didn’t. The controls still hit. Another potential problem is that the bars clutter the equipment together and leaves minimal room to work with. (Only because Nightsters have the speedo dead center on the bar.) The mirrors get in the way as well. If you plan on putting these on a Nightster, you might want to see about getting straight risers, and a speedo relocation bracket. It would make the install a lot easier. Drag Specialties does not make risers in black that will fit the 3 ½ in offset clamp that holds the bars together. You would have to get them powder coated. Once you get the risers, you will need to lift the tank and re trace the speedo cable and interface cable (N, Oil Light, etc.) to adjust the slack. The best way I found to do this was remove the only bolt holding the tank , closest to the forks. Locate the cable and un bind it from the rest. Run it under the tank bracket and re set the tank. By doing this you just gave yourself about 2 extra inches of cable. The last thing is you will need to pull the controls out about an inch of the bar to prevent the fluid reservoir hitting the front forks. Otherwise, you really won’t be able to turn. I know this is a lot but I hope this helps.
