10" Sportster 2G-Short Shocks--Lower your Sportster seat height to an incredible 24". (SOLD AS A PAIR)
** 2G short shocks are available for 1991 through current Sportster. Introducing the Licks 10" 2G-short!! It has been five years since we re-vamped our short shock line. This time around we pulled out all the stops and developed a simple, high performance, bullet proof shock system.
These 2G-Shorties will not only give your bike that illusive bad ass low ride stance, but will also deliver the most comfortable ride available in a custom shock. The 2G short shocks are unmatched in their class for handling, performance and overall ride satisfaction.
As we all know, over time, technology and innovation improve. Shock materials evolve, better spring rates are engineered and improvements are made to the valve systems. These combined design breakthroughs result in significant improvements to quality and overall ride performance.
The Licks 2G-Short Shocks are 10" eye to eye and have been specifically engineered with a universal spring load which can smoothly handle riders from 150 to 325lbs. They also feature adjustable rating to attain softer or stiffer ride response to match your preference (spanner wrench included).
The Licks 2G- Short Shocks will give your bike an attitude and performance unmatched in the industry. Go Low with the SG Shorties!!!
Tech Note-Disclaimer:
Anytime you lower a motorcycle via shocks, struts etc., you need to double-check all clearances to ensure your particular year, and model bike is safe and good to go. Other considerations with respect to clearance are the types of exhaust your running, and how aggressive your riding style is. There maybe some instances where your exhaust will touch if you really grind into the corners. Just be mindful of proper clearances before your slap youre new lowering mod on and race down the road!!
Reviews for 10" Sportster 2G-Short Shock- Black Powdercoat
The ride and the look is great!
Only down side is they are actually 10 1/4 " not 10.0"
Licks Response:
They settle to 10" after they break in a bit.
great shocks. Fit perfect on my 2010 Forty Eight. 1" drop. Looks great! Very happy with them.
look awesome on my 48 and handle well on the hiway , love em! Thanks Licks!
Got these shocks a couple of weeks ago and put them on my 2011 "48". Great look and awesome ride. The slammed look looks great on the 48 and these of course set the look off. Would recommend them to anyone looking for that great look. Bike rides and handles great.
Will be buying more products from you guys. Had no trouble with my order or shipment. Shipment came fast and I live in the UK. Thanks again.
I just threw these on and rode 150 miles. What a great ride! Of course, you are not going to have the best handling bike on the road when you go for the slammed look, but with these bad boys you'll get it as good as it can be!
I have a '09 Nightster which, from the factory, is too soft upfront and too stiff in back. I installed Ricor Intimidators and progressive springs in the forks and Lick's shocks in the rear. Totally different ride. I weigh 170 pounds and these shocks are just what I needed. I'm sold after one ride!
If there is any negative I would say it is that the lower shroud covers the preload adjuster. The shocks come with a wrench but you can't access the adjuster. I ride solo and don't think I'll need to go stiffer than the softest setting (which is where they are set from Lick's).
Overall, well worth the $200!!!
Look great and ride no different than the stock ones did.
These shocks are graet and you can't argue the look either. I use to run struts but these are much nicer they give the sporty a great look. Thank you to the guys at Licks for finding great new products.
I used these with the 2" front end sping replace. FUCKIN AWESOME! they look great and they ride a little bit stiff because they are new but it's nothin a little bit of Man the Fuck Up won't fix.
i got these shocks and they were actually 10.5 ". rides much harder on bumps but thats expected with a shorter suspension. looks good, but only if a half inch drop is worth the rough ride to you.

Ok heres the deal.....all our 2G shocks are specifically designed and manufactured to measure 10.5" eye to eye "unladen". When they are installed and the rider sits on the bike, the eye to eye measurement is 10" to 10 1/4" depending on the riders weight. Keep in mind that with any shock, after miles are put on, the shock breaks in and settle. In designing the 2G shocks we took this settling process into account. After break-in, these shocks measure 10" eye to eye unladen. The extra length we add to the shock design, allows for settling and is what gives this shock a far superior ride. If we did not add this additional length, after the shock settled you would have less than 1/2 of travel which is hard on the arse. Now with the 2G shocks, after break-in, you will have a full 1" of travel and a 10' eye to eye measurement with a much better ride. We suggest you mount the shocks and ride the bike. Let the shocks break in and enjoy the comfort of a shorty shock that actually has full travel. Probably the only shock on the market that is specifically designed to improve with continual use.
These shocks were great. Pretty easy install which only required slight movement of the fender bracket (the piece that the rear tail lights are mounted to) in order to get the shock into the factory opening. I haven't rode it yet, as it's January in New England, but the bike has a definite drop in the back and combined with my 2" tank lift, gave the bike a very nice symmetrical look starting from the back and working its way up to the tank. I hopped around on it for a minute with my buddy pushing down on the rear fender and did not bottom out...I would say definitely can support two average sized riders with no issues. Great service from licks...love buying from local small companies.
These shocks are sick! The all black look is sweet, plus the handling is great. Much better than the stock shocks. I threw these on my '10 forty eight. Lowered about an inch and half. Gives it the nice mean look. Great buy and cheap!! You will not be disappointed.
Licks Rocks!
I'm not at all surprised that these shorties perform better than the stock shocks on my Iron Sportster. Stock preset was on 5 and on these it's only 2. They were well worth the wait and they look great.
Fitted these shocks to my 05, 1200C during down time when I lost my license for speeding. Back on the bike and there is a noticable change in handling. The ride is stiff with harsh bumps bouncing me almost off the seat (seat is a custom job from a different company so that definatley doesn't help). With that said, I wouldn't change them, they look sick. Given my ride a great low, aggressive stance, with that custom look. On smooth roads there is better performance, but being from OZ they can be hard to find.
great service, quick shipping, great installation ( 15 min ), great fitment, great quality, great ride. will be buying from licks again
I just put these shocks on my 09 nightster. BA!!!! exceptional fit. even better performance. the stock HD shocks are junk. these puppies provide a much more planted feel. low speed hits are a tad more noticeable but high speed bumps are much smoother. if you are lookin for reasonably priced short shocks, don't look any farther.
