Chopper Dave - Cast Retro Air Cleaner

Our friend Chopper Dave has hand cast this very cool underground air cleaner. No frills, No flash, No BS. Just a simple bare bones, hardcore air sucker for your ride. The 66X air cleaner features Chopper Dave’s signature flags and embossed 66 on the front. It’s composed of two cast aluminum halves with a center mount and utilizes a proprietary air cleaner element made by UNI filter. The element is washable as well as a great filter. This air cleaner measures 4″ across and is just over 2″ deep.

The 66x is hand cast, hand polished, and machined to order. These are not your run of the mill custom parts. They are cast one at a time by the master craftsman himself. The 66X is not commercially pressed, its difficult to get and is truly something that comes from the underground network of master builders. THERFORE LISTEN UP….. if you want one, it will take at least 4 weeks to deliver this baby… so don’t be surprised when you select next day air shipping and it doesn’t show up on your doorstep.

If you are looking for a truly special piece for your bike, nothing compares to a hand crafted item made by someone who does it… not for the buck… not for the fame… but simply for the love of making cool shit…

Robert Pradke - In The Loop at Licks

For those of you not familiar with the name Robert Pradke, you will certainly recognize his work. He is most notably famous for his paintwork for the late Indian Larry , as well as several projects on Discovery Channel’s biker build off. Robert is near and dear to us for his incredible work on our “Home Wrecker”, which was the give away bike we did for IronWorks magazine last year. Well we are happy to say that Robert is once again in our midst.

He has just finished up the tins for my bike (sneak preview photo of the tank shown) which will be the newest addition to the Licks creations. We love to send all our projects to Robert because of his uncanny ability to take an idea and craft it into a one of a kind showpiece. His talent is second to none, not to mention the fact that he is one of the nicest, down to earth guys you’ll ever meet. If your looking for something unique in a paint job and won’t settle for anything less than the best, Robert is your man.

Robert has generously agreed to do some one off hand pinstriping on our Biltwell helmet line. Listed below is the first addition to the custom hand-pinned helmets you will see on the site from Robert. In the future, we will simply send the helmet and let him do his thing. As they are completed and filter back to the shop, we will be posting them on the site for sale. These hand-pinned helmets will be one off pieces of artwork signed by Robert, If you see something you like–jump on it because it won’t be done the same way twice!

For all you photo fanatics, I have posted a few shots you may want to check out. These are just a few examples of the projects Robert Pradke has done over the years…nothing short of KICK-ASS!!

Here are a few more for your viewing pleasure >>>>

Transforming stock to SWEEEEET…

Lets face it the billet barge era is DEAD!! Its time for an influx of fresh new ideas, Something edgy, something cool, something so simple you can’t help but look twice. Hmmmmmmm… what to do, what to do. If you look closely you’ll see we have started a new project here at Licks. We’ve decided to convert a stock Sporty to a bonified bad ass hardtail that screams low, lean and mean. If you thought it was impossible to get that low-slung ground up look on your stock bike…think again. This project will have you hardcore folks watering at the chops!!

Where to start…..the frame you’re looking at is a titled/numbered 2000 Harley Sportster totally stripped of all parts. We bought this baby as a shop bike and soon got tired of looking at it in the shop….stock sucks. So we took everything off down to the last nut and bolt, hacked off the whole rear section and replaced with a 4″ over hardtail rear. This baby comes complete with round oil tank and battery box behind the lower rear portion of the motor.…….

Want to hear more?… stay tuned for what this baby is gonna look like…..skinny tires…small tank…no front brake….jockey shift…..some of that may change when we get deeper in it….but it gives you an idea where we are not going……

Here’s the deal…we will be posting our project updates right here on the Licks Blog. Check back often to see the transformation and maybe even get some ideas for yourself.

Who Said you CAN’T!!

We have heard through the Grapevine that you “CAN’T” run internal wiring in Biltwell’s Keystone handlebars. A number of our customers have voiced frustration after repeated failed attempts, stating “ its just impossible to run the wires passed the radical curves in the Keystone”. Let’s face it….running an internal wiring set-up through the keystone bars would be cool as hell!! Soooooo…after some methodical strategizing the Licks Crew has once again triumphed over adversity. If you are interested in having this set-up on your bike it can be accomplished with a little patience and persistence. Please feel free to call the shop (413-663-9050) and speak with AJ for tips on making this project a reality for your bike.
