Vented Fork Brace - Raw -By Licks Cycles

Our fork brace is designed to strengthen your fork system when not running a front fender. Also gives you a lighter front weight. Universal fitment to any Harley-Davidson, comes with spacers for certain applications. All necessary hardware included. Offered in raw finish if you'd like to use your own paint.

Tech Note: This is a universal kit, some applications/ different rim sizes may require holes to be oblonged for proper tire clearance. We recommend you do a visual check to make sure there are no clearance issues between tire and brace prior to riding.

Just received my raw vented fork brace, and as advertised it was designed for a skinny 21" front wheel. I cut a chunk of 2x4 to 4.5 inches in length. I hammered the wood block down to the start of the radius, keeping it level using the "vented" holes on the sides to gauge. I then used a large C-clamp to close in the mounting ends toward each other. I ended up with aprx 1/4 of an inch of clearance on each side of the stock 18 inch front wheel, without sacrificing much from the upper tire clearance. I then used a medium sized rat tail file to custom fit the mounting holes. It works great, looks great, and in the true bobber fashion..took some garage type engineering and some (very little) elbow grease, to end up with a excellent priced fork brace. Mod took 20 minutes top. Thanks Lick's for providing reasonable priced bobber parts!

second purchase from Licks...solo bag was great....this ISN'T! Doesn't fit my bike. Holes don't line up...have to drill out wider ones which then allows more 'play' in the unit. Came with bolts, but no nuts or washers...save your money

Licks response -

Michael - this product is clearly listed as a universal "custom application".  Depending on what type of bike and front end you have (ie. mid-glide, wide glide etc), there may be some minor adjustments needed (Also clearly outlined in the description).

The fork brace kit comes with basis hardware. Again... based on the application, you may have to drop into Home Cheapo to grab a few spacers or longer bolts for a couple bucks.

The purpose of this kit is to provide a kick ass, cool fork brace that can be used in most Sportster apps with no issue and also be used on custom applications with very minor adjustment or a few spacers.

All in all, the product is super high quality, simple, geared for the do it yourselfer... and oh by the way ....YOU CANT BEAT THE PRICE....seriously its $40 bucks!! Try to get something 1/2 as cool at your Harley dealer for double even triple the price.... it will be an unlikely find.

Michael, We very much appreciate your business and welcome your candid feedback.  Although we realize every product can't always satisfy every customer like we would hope.  Your experience with the fork brace has not been in line with the majority and we don't feel as though the product falls short given our clear disclaimers regarding its use and variations.
